Overview

Introduction:

Urban Planning and Design refers to the structured coordination of spatial, regulatory, and environmental elements that shape cities and built environments. This field governs how land is organized, infrastructure is distributed, and urban functions are aligned with public policy, demographic needs, and development priorities. This training program examines the planning systems, zoning frameworks, mobility structures, and sustainability models used by institutions to guide urban expansion, functionality, and livability. It also emphasizes the strategic role of stakeholder engagement and regulatory alignment in producing balanced and future ready urban spaces.

Program Objectives:

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify institutional models and regulatory frameworks in urban planning.

  • Classify zoning systems and land use structures based on planning logic.
