Introduction:

Maritime security management and control are fundamental to protecting ships, port facilities, maritime infrastructure, and global supply chains against evolving security threats while ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations. They integrate maritime security governance, security risk management, regulatory compliance, port and ship security, emergency preparedness, and interagency coordination to strengthen operational resilience and security readiness. This training program explores the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, maritime security governance frameworks, security risk assessment methodologies, protective security measures, and compliance requirements aligned with international maritime standards. It provides an institutional perspective on how integrated marine security management enhances regulatory compliance, safeguards critical maritime assets, and supports secure and resilient maritime operations.

Program Objectives:

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

Identify regulatory foundations and safety obligations in maritime environments.
Outline institutional models for managing vessel and port security and safety functions.
Classify maritime threats and safety hazards within defined risk structures.
Explore coordination procedures between safety authorities and operational teams.
Evaluate compliance requirements tied to international maritime safety and security standards.

Targeted Audience:

Port Security Officers.
Maritime Safety and Compliance Managers.
Ship Operators and Company Security Officers (CSOs).
